Dosage of Betamethasone/Calcipotriol in details

The dose of a drug and dosage of the drug are two different terminologies. Dose is defined as the quantity or amount of medicine given by the doctor or taken by the patient at a given period. Dosage is the regimen prescribed by the doctor about how many days and how many times per day the drug is to be taken in specified dose by the patient. Gel: Betamethasone/Calcipotriol should be applied to the affected area once daily. The recommended treatment duration is 4 weeks. After this period, repeated treatment with Betamethasone/Calcipotriol can be initiated under medical supervision. The maximum daily dose should not exceed 15 g, the maximum weekly dose should not exceed 100 g and the treated area should not be >30% of the body surface area.

Betamethasone/Calcipotriol gel should be applied to affected areas of the scalp once daily. The recommended treatment period is 8 weeks for non-scalp areas. After this period repeated treatment with Betamethasone/Calcipotriol gel can be initiated under medical supervision.

All the affected scalp areas may be treated with Betamethasone/Calcipotriol gel. Usually an amount between 1 g and 4 g daily is sufficient for treatment of the scalp (4 g corresponds to 1 teaspoon).

When using calcipotriol containing products, the maximum daily dose should not exceed 15 g, and the maximum weekly dose should not exceed 100 g. The body surface area (BDA) treated with calcipotriol containing products should not exceed 30%.

Administration: Gel: Shake the bottle before use. In order to achieve optimal effect, it is recommended that the hair is not washed immediately after application of Betamethasone/Calcipotriol gel. Betamethasone/Calcipotriol gel should remain on the skin during the night or during the day.

Betamethasone/Calcipotriol interactions

Interactions are the effects that happen when the drug is taken along with the food or when taken with other medications. Suppose if you are taking a drug Betamethasone/Calcipotriol, it may have interactions with specific foods and specific medications. It will not interact with all foods and medications. The interactions vary from drug to drug. You need to be aware of interactions of the medicine you take. Most medications may interact with alcohol, tobacco, so be cautious.
