What are the possible side effects of Ginkgo biloba (Aphrofem)?
Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Stop using Ginkgo biloba (Aphrofem) and call your healthcare provider at once if you have:

easy bruising, unusual bleeding (nose, mouth, vagina, or rectum);

any bleeding that will not stop;

a seizure (convulsions); or
-
weak pulse, weak or shallow breathing, feeling like you might pass out.
Touching or handling Ginkgo biloba (Aphrofem) fruit pulp can cause a severe skin reaction including redness, swelling, blistering, and itching for up to 10 days.
In animal studies, Ginkgo biloba (Aphrofem) leaf extract increased the risk of thyroid cancer and liver cancer. However, very high doses are used in animal studies. It is not known whether these effects would occur in people using doses recommended for human use.
Common side effects may include:

- This product has not been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as safe and effective for any medical condition. The long-term safety of herbal products is not known. Before using any alternative medicine, talk with your doctor or pharmacist.
- This product is not recommended for use in CHILDREN.
- PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING: Use of Ginkgo biloba (Aphrofem) is not recommended if you are pregnant or breast-feeding. If you plan on becoming pregnant, discuss with your doctor the risks of using this product during pregnancy.
Ginkgo biloba (Aphrofem) contraindications
Hypersensitivity to Ginkgo biloba (Aphrofem) or to any of the excipients of Ginkgo biloba (Aphrofem).
Use in lactation: It is unknown whether Ginkgo biloba (Aphrofem)/metabolites are excreted in human milk. A risk to the newborns/infants cannot be excluded. Ginkgo biloba (Aphrofem) should not be used during breastfeeding.
