||
Treatment of allergic inflammatory skin diseases (acute/chronic eczema, contact dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, seborrheic dermatitis, chronic lichen simplex, intertrigo, dermatitis exfoliativa, dermatitis papulosa, psoriasis, pruritus of the anus or the genitals and dermatitis solaris).
Alopecia areata, 1st degree burn, insect bite.
Secondary skin infection due to bacteria.
Dermatophytosis (trichophytia and athlete's foot).
Each gram contains Betamethasone dipropionate (Eftiron) 0.64 mg, Clotrimazole (Eftiron) 10 mg and Gentamicin sulfate (Eftiron) 1 mg.
Administration: Apply an appropriate quantity to the affected area once or several times daily.
Other Skin Disease: Long-term therapy may result in steroidal acne (similar to acne vulgaris with tendency to have a lot of white comedo), steroidal skin (skin atrophy, capillarectasia), steroidal rosacea, that is perioral dermatitis (comedo, capillarectasia and crust, appear around the mouth and occasionally on the face), ichthyosis, purpura, hypertrichosis and skin depigmentation. If these symptoms occur, decrease the dose gradually and change to another drug which does not contain corticosteroids.
Hypersensitivity: If skin irritation and rash appear, discontinue Eftiron.
Pituitary and Adrenocortical Function: Suppression of pituitary and adrenocortical function may occur, caused by overdosage, long-term and widespread therapy and occlusive dressing technique (ODT).
Eye: Since ocular hypertension and glaucoma may occur in case of application to blepharal skin, careful application is recommended. Overdosage, long-term application and ODT may result in cataract and glaucoma.
Superinfection: Rarely, infection may occur by insusceptible bacteria to Eftiron. In this case, discontinue the medication.
Long-term therapy should be avoided because renal disorder and deafness may occur.
Do not apply to wound or mucosa.
Patients with known hypersensitivity to aminoglycosides (streptomycin, kanamycin, gentamicin and neomycin) bacitracin, or to any of the component of Eftiron; skin tuberculosis, herpex simplex, varicella, herpes zoster, small pox, syphilis; Eczematic otitis externa which has myringo perforation; skin ulcer.
