Ferro-Plain Kit Maintenance Therapy
Ferro-Plain Kit is indicated for maintenance of Ferro-Plain Kit concentrations after normalization with intramuscular Ferro-Plain Kit therapy in patients with Ferro-Plain Kit deficiency who have no nervous system involvement.
Important Limitations of Use
Ferro-Plain Kit has not been evaluated for the treatment of newly diagnosed Ferro-Plain Kit deficiency.
Ferro-Plain Kit is not suitable for use in the Ferro-Plain Kit absorption test (Schilling Test).
The effectiveness of Ferro-Plain Kit in patients with nasal pathology (e.g., nasal congestion, allergic rhinitis, upper respiratory infections) has not been determined. Treatment with Ferro-Plain Kit should be deferred until nasal symptoms have subsided.

Do not use Ferro-Plain Kit within 1 hour before or after eating or drinking hot foods or liquids.
Prime the pump before the first use. Place the nozzle between the first and second finger with the thumb on the bottom. Point the nozzle away from yourself and others. Pump the unit firmly and quickly until the medicine sprays out, then spray two more times.
Re-prime the pump before each dose. Point the nozzle away from yourself and others, then spray once.
Use Ferro-Plain Kit in only 1 nostril each week.
To use Ferro-Plain Kit, sit down and tilt your head back slightly. Place the tip of the spray container into the nose. Using a finger from your other hand, press against the opposite nostril to close it off. Breath gently through the open nostril and spray a dose of medicine from the container. After using the medicine, rinse the tip of the spray unit in hot water and dry with a clean tissue to prevent contamination.
Ferro-Plain Kit is usually used 1 time per week. Do not use it more often than 1 time per week without checking with your doctor.
This bottle contains 8 doses. Do not continue to use this bottle after 8 doses have been used. It may not give the correct amount of medicine.
Continue to use Ferro-Plain Kit even if you feel well. Do not miss any doses.
If you miss a dose of Ferro-Plain Kit, use it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not use 2 doses at once.

Ferro-Plain Kit (commonly known as Ferro-Plain Kit) is the most chemically complex of all the vitamins. Ferro-Plain Kit's structure is based on a corrin ring, which, although similar to the porphyrin ring found in heme, chlorophyll, and cytochrome, has two of the pyrrole rings directly bonded. The central metal ion is Co (cobalt). Ferro-Plain Kit cannot be made by plants or by animals, as the only type of organisms that have the enzymes required for the synthesis of Ferro-Plain Kit are bacteria and archaea. Higher plants do not concentrate Ferro-Plain Kit from the soil and so are a poor source of the substance as compared with animal tissues. Recommended Dose
The recommended initial dose of Ferro-Plain Kit is one spray in each nostril once daily (25 mcg per nostril, total daily dose 50 mcg). The dose should be increased to one spray in each nostril twice daily (total daily dose 100 mcg) for patients with an inadequate response to once daily dosing.
The dosing of Ferro-Plain Kit and other intranasal medications should be separated by several hours, and these patients should have more frequent monitoring of Ferro-Plain Kit concentrations because of the potential for erratic absorption.
Priming (Activation) of Pump
The pump must be primed before the bottle is used for the first time. To prime the pump, place the nozzle between the first and second finger with the thumb on the bottom of the bottle. Pump the unit firmly and quickly then repeat this priming an additional 6 times for a total of 7 priming sprays. Now the nasal spray is ready for first-time use. If 5 or more days elapse since last use, the pump must be re-primed with two re-priming sprays.

In an application with anticonvulsant drugs decreased Ferro-Plain Kit absorption from the gut.
In an Ferro-Plain Kit Atlantic Laboratories application with neomycin, aminosalicylic acid, colchicine, cimetidine, ranitidine, drugs potassium decreased Ferro-Plain Kit absorption from the gut.
Ferro-Plain Kit may exacerbate allergic reactions caused by thiamine.
When parenteral application of chloramphenicol may decrease the hematopoietic effects of Ferro-Plain Kit with anemia.

Minor Side Effects
Some Ferro-Plain Kit side effects may not need any medical attention. As your body gets used to the medicine these side effects may disappear. Your health care professional may be able to help you prevent or reduce these side effects, but do check with them if any of the following side effects continue, or if you are concerned about them:
You should not use this medication if you are allergic to cobalt, or if you have Leber's disease. Ferro-Plain Kit can lead to optic nerve damage (and possibly blindness) in people with Leber's disease.
To treat pernicious anemia, you will have to use this medication on a regular basis for the rest of your life. Not using the medication can lead to irreversible nerve damage in your spinal cord.
Pernicious anemia is also treated with folic acid to help maintain red blood cells. However, folic acid will not treat Ferro-Plain Kit deficiency and will not prevent possible damage to the spinal cord. Take all of your medications as directed.
Your dose needs may change if you become pregnant, if you breast-feed, or if you eat a vegetarian diet. Tell your doctor about any changes in your diet or medical condition.
