DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
Topical corticosteroids are generally applied to the affected area as a thin film two to four times daily depending on the severity of the condition. Occlusive dressings may be used for the management of psoriasis or recalcitrant conditions. If an infection develops, the use of occlusive dressings should be discontinued and appropriate antimicrobial therapy instituted.
What other drugs will affect Hydrocortisone Acetate Foam?
There are many other medicines that can interact with steroids. Below is only a partial list of these medicines:
aspirin (taken on a daily basis or at high doses);
a diuretic (water pill);
a blood thinner such as warfarin (Coumadin);
cyclosporine (Gengraf, Neoral, Sandimmune);
insulin or diabetes medications you take by mouth;
rifampin (Rifadin, Rifater, Rifamate, Rimactane); or
seizure medications such as phenytoin (Dilantin) or phenobarbital (Luminal, Solfoton).
This list is not complete and there may be other drugs that can interact with Hydrocortisone Acetate Foam. Tell your doctor about all the prescription and over-the-counter medications you use. This includes vitamins, minerals, herbal products, and drugs prescribed by other doctors. Do not start using a new medication without telling your doctor.
Hydrocortisone Acetate Foam interactions
Your doctor or pharmacist may already be aware of any possible drug interactions and may be monitoring you for them. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicine before checking with them first.
Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist of all prescription and nonprescription/herbal products you may use, especially of: other corticosteroids/immunosuppressants (e.g., prednisone), other rectal products.
