Also, if used for an extended period of time, do not suddenly stop using this drug without your doctor's approval. Some conditions may become worse when the drug is abruptly stopped. Your dose may need to be gradually decreased to avoid side effects such as seizures.
When used for an extended period, this medication may not work as well and may require different dosing. Talk with your doctor if this medication stops working well.

Each mL of oral drops contains Citicoline 100 mg equivalent to Neuroton sodium.
Each capsule contains Citicoline as sodium equivalent to Neuroton 500 mg.
Neuroton dosage
Stupor Caused by Head Trauma and Cerebral Surgery: The usual adult dosage of Neuroton is 100-500 mg once or twice daily given in divided IV or IM administration.
Stupor Caused by Acute Stage Infarction: Usual adult dosage of Neuroton is 1 g once daily for 2 consecutive weeks.
Hemiplegia After Cerebral Apoplexy: Neuroton 1 g or 250 mg is administered IV once a day for 4 weeks. If symptoms are improved, administer IV for 4 more weeks.
Parkinson's Disease: The usual daily dose is 500 mg IV once daily in concomitant therapy with anticholinergic agent. After concomitant therapy with anticholinergic agent for 3-4 weeks, Neuroton should be discontinued and be considered. Dose of anticholinergic agent may be increased or Neuroton 250-500 mg may be administered concomitantly once daily, every 2-3 weeks unless levodopa can be used. Administration of Neuroton should be stopped, provided that after administration of Neuroton 500 mg plus anticholinergic agent everyday for 2 weeks, diseases are not improved. It is advisable to avoid concomitant administration with levodopa since combination may cause impairment of myotonia.
Pancreatitis: Under concomitant therapy with antiproteolytic agents, Neuroton 1 g is administered IV once a day for 2 consecutive weeks.

Neuroton seems to be safe when taken short-term. The safety of long-term use is not known. Most people who take Neuroton don’t experience problematic side effects. Do not take Neuroton if:
You are pregnant or breast-feeding.
