Pritazine indications

An indication is a term used for the list of condition or symptom or illness for which the medicine is prescribed or used by the patient. Pritazine description

Pritazine is a histamine H1 antagonist (antihistamine). It competes with histamine for the normal H1-receptor sites on effector cells of the gastrointestinal tract, blood vessels and respiratory tract. It provides effective, temporary relief of sneezing, watery and itchy eyes, and runny nose due to hay fever and other upper respiratory allergies.

Allergic conditions

Adult: 5 mg bid.

Pritazine interactions

Pritazine can interact with CNS depressant, antichlolinergic, TCA, MAOIs, and alcohol.

Pritazine side effects

CNS depression including slight drowsiness to deep sleep, lassitude, dizziness, incoordination. Headache, psychomotor impairment and antimuscarinic effects. Rarely, rashes and hypersensitivity reactions, blood disorders, convulsions, sweating, myalgia, paraesthesias, extrapyramidal effects, tremor, confusion, sleep and GI disturbances, tinnitus, hypotension, hair loss. Photosensitivity, jaundice.

  • Closed Angle Glaucoma
  • Paralytic ileus
  • Stenosis of the pylore
  • Myasthenia Gravis
  • Status Asthmaticus
  • Obstructive chronic broncho-pneumopath
  • Hypersensitivity to the Phenothiazines
  • concomitant MAOI therapy
  • Alcohol
