What should I avoid while taking Roxithromycin 300MG TABLET?
Avoid using other medications on the areas you treat with erythromycin topical unless your doctor tells you to.
Avoid using skin products that can cause irritation, such as harsh soaps or skin cleansers, or skin products with alcohol, spices, astringents, or lime.
Avoid getting this medication in your eyes, mouth, and nose, or on your lips. If it does get into any of these areas, rinse with water.
Antibiotic medicines can cause diarrhea, which may be a sign of a new infection. If you have diarrhea that is watery or bloody, stop taking erythromycin topical and call your doctor. Do not use anti-diarrhea medicine unless your doctor tells you to.
Roxithromycin 300MG TABLET warnings
Hepatic impairment. Monitor liver function. Prolonged treatment increases risk of hepatotoxicity. History of arrhythmias. Use in pregnancy (Category B1) Use in lactation
Small amounts of Roxithromycin 300MG TABLET are excreted in the breast milk. Breastfeeding
or treatment of the mother should be discontinued as necessary. No dosage adjustment is required in elderly patients.
What should I discuss with my healthcare provider before taking Roxithromycin 300MG TABLET?
- If you have an allergy to erythromycin or any other part of Roxithromycin 300MG TABLET (erythromycin (ophthalmic)).
- If you are allergic to any drugs like this one, any other drugs, foods, or other substances. Tell your doctor about the allergy and what signs you had, like rash; hives; itching; shortness of breath; wheezing; cough; swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat; or any other signs.
This medicine may interact with other drugs or health problems.
Tell your doctor and pharmacist about all of your drugs (prescription or OTC, natural products, vitamins) and health problems. You must check to make sure that it is safe for you to take this medicine with all of your drugs and health problems. Do not start, stop, or change the dose of any drug without checking with your doctor.
Roxithromycin 300MG TABLET precautions
Because azithromycin is principally eliminated via the liver, thus caution should be exercised when azithromycin is administered to patients with impaired hepatic functions.
Use in pregnancy: Azithromycin should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed.
Use in lactation: Caution should be exercised when azithromycin is administered to a nursing mother.
Use in children: Safety and effectiveness of children <6 months have not been established for azithromycin.
What happens if I miss a dose of Roxithromycin 300MG TABLET?
Use the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose. Do not use extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
