In cases where Duspatalin was taken in overdose, symptoms were either absent or mild and usually rapidly reversible.
Symptoms: Theoretically, central nervous system excitability may occur in cases of overdose. In cases where Sandoz Mebeverine HCl was taken in overdose, symptoms were either absent or mild and usually rapidly reversible. Observed symptoms of overdose were of neurological and cardiovascular nature.
Treatment: No specific antidote is known and symptomatic treatment is recommended. Gastric lavage should only be considered in case of multiple intoxication within about 1 hr. Absorption reducing measures are not necessary.
Sandoz Mebeverine HCl has proved to be well- tolerated in therapeutic doses.
Though experiments in rats and rabbits have shown Sandoz Mebeverine HCl hydrochloride not to be teratogenic, Sandoz Mebeverine HCl is better avoided during pregnancy.
Effects on the Ability to Drive or Operate Machinery: No studies on the effects on the ability to drive and use machines have been performed. The pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic profile as well as post-marketing experiences do not indicate any harmful effect of Sandoz Mebeverine HCl on the ability to drive or to use machines.
Impairment of Fertility: There is no clinical data on male or female fertility; however, animal studies do not indicate harmful effects of Sandoz Mebeverine HCl.
Use in pregnancy: There is no or limited amount of data from the use of Sandoz Mebeverine HCl in pregnant women. Animal studies are insufficient with respect to reproductive toxicity. Sandoz Mebeverine HCl is not recommended during pregnancy.
Use in lactation: It is unknown whether Sandoz Mebeverine HCl or its metabolites are excreted in human milk. The excretion of Sandoz Mebeverine HCl in milk has not been studied in animals. Sandoz Mebeverine HCl should not be used while breastfeeding.
Use in children: Sandoz Mebeverine HCl capsules are not recommended for use in children and adolescents <18 years, due to insufficient data on safety and efficacy.
