Treating or preventing low levels of vitamins and minerals in the body. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.
Surbex is a vitamin and mineral supplement. It works by providing extra vitamins and minerals to the body when you do not get enough from your diet.
Surbex indications
An indication is a term used for the list of condition or symptom or illness for which the medicine is prescribed or used by the patient. For example, acetaminophen or paracetamol is used for fever by the patient, or the doctor prescribes it for a headache or body pains. Now fever, headache and body pains are the indications of paracetamol. A patient should be aware of the indications of medications used for common conditions because they can be taken over the counter in the pharmacy meaning without prescription by the Physician.

Adults and Children Aged 11 and Above
This formulation is indicated as daily Surbex maintenance dosage for adults and children aged 11 years and above receiving parenteral nutrition. It is also indicated in other situations where administration by the intravenous route is required. Such situations include surgery, extensive burns, fractures and other trauma, severe infectious diseases, and comatose states, which may provoke a “stress” situation with profound alterations in the body’s metabolic demands and consequent tissue depletion of nutrients. M.V.I. Adult (administered in intravenous fluids under proper dilution) contributes toward the intake of these vitamins that are necessary toward maintaining the body’s normal resistance and repair processes.
The physician should not await the development of clinical signs of vitamin deficiency before initiating vitamin therapy. Patients with multiple vitamin deficiencies or with markedly increased requirements may be given multiples of the daily dosage for two or more days as indicated by the clinical status. Clinical testing indicates that some patients do not maintain adequate levels of certain vitamins when this formulation in recommended amounts is the sole source of vitamins.
How should I use Surbex?
Use Surbex as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.
Take Surbex by mouth with or without food. If stomach upset occurs, take with food to reduce stomach irritation.
Shake well before each use.
Use the dropper that comes with Surbex to measure your dose. Ask your pharmacist for help if you are unsure of how to measure your dose.
If you are also taking a quinolone antibiotic (eg, ciprofloxacin), a tetracycline antibiotic (eg, minocycline), or a thrombopoietin mimetic (eg, eltrombopag), ask your doctor or pharmacist how to take them with Surbex.
If you miss a dose of Surbex, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.
