For the treatment of psychoses. Also used in conditions characterized by fear and anxiety and to alleviate withdrawal symptoms in addicts.
Buronil description
Buronil is an atypical antipsychotic of the butyrophenone chemical class, making it structurally related to the typical antipsychotic haloperidol. It first entered clinical use in 1960s.
Buronil side effects
Drowsiness, dizziness.
Dry Mouth.
Parkinsonism.
Jaundice, obstruction of biliary tract.
Blood pressure drop - especially if you stand up quickly.
Involuntary movements, headache, anticholinergic syndrome.
Heart Beats disturbances.
Some side effects are seen using Buronil ® without it has been possible to establish the frequency. The most serious are: disturbances in heart rhythm, heart failure, sudden unexplained death. Blood pressure drop seen especially when treatment is started with a high dose. Anticholinergic syndrome can occur with multiple symptoms - including dry mouth, blurred vision, confusion, and palpitations. NMS is a serious condition with fever, impaired consciousness, tremor and involuntary slow movements. This condition requires immediate medical attention.
Buronil contraindications
Do not use with impaired consciousness, circulatory collapse, and with changes in blood composition.
