Adult: As cream/oint containing 0.25% of the caproate or 0.25% of the free alcohol or pivalate ester. Apply thinly once daily-bid.
Fluocortolone description
Fluocortolone is a glucocorticoid with anti-inflammatory activity used topically for various skin disorders.

Fluocortolone interactions
The patient has to tell the doctor or pharmacist of all prescription or nonprescription/herbal products you may use, especially of: corticosteroids taken by mouth (e.g., prednisone), other corticosteroids applied to the skin (e.g., hydrocortisone), drugs that lower the immune system (e.g., cyclosporine).
Fluocortolone side effects
Severe pituitary-adrenal-axis suppression, Cushing's syndrome, worsening of untreated infections, thinning of the skin, irreversible striae atrophicae and telangiectasia, dermatitis, acne, mild depigmentation, atrophy.
Potentially Fatal: Hypersensitivity.
Fluocortolone contraindications
Systemic infection; widespread plaque psoriasis, untreated fungal or viral skin lesions; infants <1 yr. Rosacea; perioral dermatitis and acne vulgaris.
