Obynal-M indications
Obynal-M with its straightforward formulation will provide an effective, reliable nutritional support in the following cases: During increased nutritional requirements as in periods of stress and convalescence following illness or post surgical conditions; for the treatment of multivitamin deficiencies; in inadequate or deficient diet.

It can therefore prove to be of special value to: Individuals who work long hours or do demanding jobs, in convalescing state (to recover strength and health after illness), athletes in training, women on pills and heavy smokers.
Obynal-M description
Each tablet contains retinol palmitate (vit A) 5,000 IU, thiamine hydrochloride (vit B1) 2 mg, riboflavin 5' phosphate (vit B2) 2 mg, nicotinamide (vit B3) 20 mg, calcium pantothenate (vit B5) 5 mg, pyridoxine hydrochloride (vit B6) 2 mg, folic acid (vit B9) 250 mcg, ascorbic acid (vit C) 60 mg, cholecalciferol (vit D3) 400 IU, calcium lactate 100 mg, ferrous fumarate 100 mg (equivalent to elemental iron) 33 mg, potassium iodide 75 mcg, magnesium sulfate 5 mg, copper (as sulfate pentahydrate) 1 mg, manganese sulfate 1 mg, cyanocobalamin (vit B12) 3 mcg.
Obynal-M tablet is a special nutritional supplement formulated to provide maximum nutrient values to the pregnant mother and the rapidly developing baby in her womb. Incorporated into each tablet of Obynal-M are substantial amounts of the important nutrients required for a successful gestation and delivery. A daily dose of Obynal-M tablet is also ideal and requisite for the lactating mother, the benefits consequently passed on to the breast-fed infant.
Obynal-M tablet is coated with a layered enteric crust which protects its contents from premature degradation by the gastric acid but allows maximum absorption in the intestinal tract. This special coating also masks the non-palatable tastes of the constituted ingredients, thus contributing to high dosage compliance among patients.
Obynal-M dosage
Cap 1 cap once-bid. Syr Adult 5-10 mL tid. Childn Treatment 2 mg Fe/kg body wt tid. Prophylaxis 1 mg Fe/kg body wt tid. Drops Prevention 0.3-0.6 mL daily. Therapeutic 1 mL tid.
Obynal-M interactions
Concomitant administration of tetracycline and some antacids may decrease the amount of iron absorbed and similarly, iron may retard the absorption of tetracyclines. These products should not be taken within 2 hrs. of each other. Food reduces the absorption of iron but will lessen gastric irritation.
Obynal-M side effects
Discontinue administration of Obynal-M and consult a doctor if the following symptoms occur: Pruritus, eruption, flare, erythema, xeroderma, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, epigastric distress, anorexia, abdominal distention, epigastralgia, photosensitivity, convulsion, fever, coma, asystole, CNS dysfunction, hyperkalemia, pulmonary edema and urticaria.
May cause acceleration of menstruation and menorrhagic extension of anovulatory menstrual cycle; thrombosis or thrombotic predisposition in patients concomitantly taking oral contraceptives; nausea, vomiting, hypernatremia, congestive heart failure and edema when administered at high doses; hypercalcemia and nephrolithiasis on long-term use.
Obynal-M contraindications
Hypersensitivity to Obynal-M.
Combination therapy with aldosterone antagonist and triamterene may cause hypercalcemia.
Patients with hypercalcemia, hyperkalemia, sarcoidosis, nephrolithiasis, severe renal failure, Wilson's disease, hematochromatosis and those taking oral tetracyclines, antacids, phosphates and levodopa.
Infants <1 year.
Do not administer before and after drinking teas containing tannins.
